Are you sick and tired of being sick and tired?  What motivates you?  Nothing?  I've been there, when even going on a vacation seemed like a chore.  Why are you so tired?  Is it really just because you're getting older?  Is this what aging has in store for you?  I say emphatically, "NO!"  Have you already been to your physician and told them you're exhausted, only to be told "nothing's wrong....your labs are fine...  you're just tired"?  There is something going on.  Let's figure it out.

There are a lot of possible reasons for you being so tired.  Are you not getting enough sleep?  Do you have some nutritional deficiencies that have not been discovered?  Do you have a high inflammatory load inside your body?  Do you suffer from undiagnosed sleep apnea?  Do you have IBS with a bacterial, yeast, fungal, or parasitic intestinal infection that is undiagnosed?  Do you have undiagnosed autoimmune issues?  Do you really have a thyroid issue that has not been discovered yet?  Do you have a hormonal imbalance?  Are you eating energy draining / inflammation causing foods?  Are your medications making you tired by pushing down your cortisol levels?  Are your medications robbing your body of vital nutrients and causing fatigue?  Have you had an intestinal resection or gastric by-pass and are suffering from nutritional deficiencies?  Do you have food sensitivities that you don't know about that are causing inflammation in the intestines and malabsorption of your vitamins, minerals, and nutrients?  Are unimproved anxiety an depression weighing you down?  Do you have cortisol dysregulation?

There are so many things to consider when a patient tells me they are exhausted.  The problem is...most providers will give up on figuring out what's going on with you.  Their discovery of only a few labs they have been taught to check usually reveals nothing.  They have been taught once they can't figure out what's going with you to refer you to a specialist...and then another specialist...and then another specialist...and finally you will circle back around to your primary care physician and will have spent a lot of money with no answers.  In their defense, they're only practicing what they were taught and trying to stay within the confines of what your insurance company will allow them to do.

I certainly don't think I have all the answers, and give credit where credit is due to many extremely smart practitioners that are out there.  However, I feel my training in Metabolic and Nutritional Medicine allows me to figure out a lot of things I used to not have the answers for either.

Come and let us figure out why you're so tired.
